Blackburn have signed Cardiff City winger Craig Conway for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 28-year-old Scotland international spent time on loan with Championship rivals Brighton earlier this season, scoring once in 13 games.

His only appearance for Cardiff this term came as a substitute in August's Capital One Cup tie at Accrington.

Conway, who has not played since December, could make his Rovers debut against Blackpool on Saturday.

He links up with Scotland team-mates Grant Hanley and Jordan Rhodes, as well as former Cardiff forward Rudy Gestede at Ewood Park.

"I'd spoken to a few different clubs but I'm glad to come here," he told BBC Radio Lancashire. "When I met the manager and saw the facilities, I was really impressed.

"I've spoken to Grant and Jordan a few times and asked about the club, and they had nothing but good things to say."

The former Dundee United player, who began his career with Ayr, joined Cardiff in 2011 despite interest from then-Scottish champions Rangers.

He featured for Scotland in their 3-2 defeat by England at Wembley in August and went on to start against the USA in November and came on as a substitute against Norway a week later.
