Stevenage 0-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves remain six points clear at the top of the League One table following a goalless draw at Stevenage.

Liam McAlinden had the first chance of the match for Wolves, while goalkeeper Carl Ikeme produced a stunning save to deny Jimmy Smith at the other end.

The hosts went close when Francois Zoko put his overhead kick wide and Luke Freeman cut inside from the right and fired just over the bar.

Chris Day denied Nouha Dicko and Leon Clarke from point-blank range.

Second-bottom Stevenage, who were replaced at the foot of the table by Saturday's opponents Shrewsbury Town, have closed the gap to safety to a single point.

Wolves now 11 points clear of third-placed Leyton Orient with six games left.

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told BBC WM 95.6:

"It was a hard-earned point. The first half was pretty even but we had the better of the second half and had some big chances, but didn't put them away.

"Looking at the context of the bigger picture, I'm not disappointed with a point because with the position we're in every point is a good one.

"Stevenage had a very high motivation level and we just couldn't find that goal in the second half.

"I'm pleased with a clean sheet, we were terrific defensively as a side and if you can't win you don't get beat."
