Coventry secured their place in League One next season with a vital point against champions Wolves.
The first half proved a tight affair with neither side able to seriously test either goalkeeper.
The breakthrough came six minutes from time when Dave Edwards slotted home Bakary Sako's cross.
Wolves thought that was enough to win it but Danny Batth put a cross into his own net after pressure from Nathan Delfouneso.
Wolves will break the division's points record if they win their final game, while the Sky Blues can enjoy their last match with thoughts of relegation behind them.
Coventry City manager Steven Pressley told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire:
"I'm immensely proud of the team, immensely proud of the staff and all the players, because we've endured a lot this year and it's been an extremely demanding season for everybody.
"To get over the line considering we've had the 10-point deduction and all the other things to take into consideration I think it's been a wonderful, wonderful effort.
"I can go and have a couple of beers tonight and enjoy it. Celebrating that we've not been relegated should not be a big deal at this club, but it has to be this season after all we've endured. I just hope in the future that what we're not celebrating avoiding the drop, but what Wolves have been celebrating the past few weeks."
