Premier League predictions: Lawro v actor and singer Zac Efron

  • Published
BBC Sport expert Mark Lawrenson

BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.

His opponent for the weekend's Premier League fixtures is former High School Musical actor Zac Efron, now starring in new comedy 'Bad Neighbours'.

Efron admits he does not know much about football but recently won the award for 'Best Shirtless Performance', external at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, an accolade that is likely to continue to elude Lawro.

"I get to a few LA Galaxy games, but not enough," Efron told BBC Sport. "It's fun and the sport is really starting to grow in the United States.

"I saw David Beckham play a few times and watched a game next to him, which was awesome. He is a great dude."

"When I am in the UK, I always try to get to a game. I saw Arsenal play Chelsea in 2012. The chants you have here are insane - like a long poem that every single person knows. It is a little different to baseball."

A correct result (ie picking a win, draw or defeat) is worth ONE point. A correct score earns THREE points.

Last weekend, Lawro got six correct results from eight Premier League games, with one perfect score. His tally of eight points saw him beat snooker player Ken Doherty, who got two correct results with no perfect scores, for a total of two points.

We're keeping a record of the totals for Lawro and his guests (below), and showing a table of how the Premier League would look if all of Lawro's predictions were correct (at the bottom of the page).
