Yeovil Town have signed defender Aaron Martin on a two-year deal following his release from Birmingham City.

The 24-year-old centre-back began his career at Eastleigh before joining Southampton in 2009.

He spent time on loan with Salisbury, Crystal Palace and Coventry before being let go by the Saints in January.

Martin then signed for Birmingham for the final few months of the 2013-14 Championship season, and he made eight appearances for Blues.

Manager Gary Johnson said: "Aaron is a player that I have tried to sign on a few occasions with other clubs so I am really pleased.

"Aaron is a really dominant centre-half who had a good spell at Southampton and Coventry. But not only is Aaron a good player, he has a good character as well which is what we need at the club."
