Southend United have signed out-of-contract striker Lee Barnard on a one-year deal following a loan spell from Southampton last term.
The 29-year-old arrived for a second spell at Roots Hall in January and scored once in 14 games.
He left Southend in 2010 to join the Saints, where he scored 23 goals in 62 league games.
There are also new one-year deals for Shrimpers keeper Paul Smith and midfielder Jack Payne.
The club hold a further one-year option on Payne, 19, who made 11 substitute appearances in his debut season of professional football.
