Cardiff City have signed 19-year-old former Peterborough goalkeeper Charlie Horton on a free transfer.

He joined the Posh in July 2013 but left by mutual consent in April 2014 having failed to make a single first-team appearance.

Horton will now join City's under-21 side and travel to Sarajevo in Bosnia-Hercegovina for a pre-season friendly.

Horton joins strikers Javi Guerra,Adam Le Fondre and Federico Macheda among the Bluebirds' summer recruits.

The Welsh club were relegated at the end of their first Premier League season and hope to bounce back with a successful 2014-15 Championship campaign.

Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also signed Austrian midfielder Guido Burgstaller from Rapid Vienna and Kagisho Dikgacoi on a free from Crystal Palace.

But there is speculation over the futures of Gary Medel, Steven Caulker and Fraizer Campbell, external with all three linked with moves away from Cardiff City Stadium.
