Nottingham Forest assistant manager Steve Wigley says captain Chris Cohen will make a full recovery from a third serious knee injury in three years.

The 27-year-old has been ruled out for nine months with the injury he sustained in Sunday's draw with Derby.

Wigley said: "It's a huge blow for Chris and the club. He is a very good player and a fantastic person. We will miss him him on the pitch and off it.

"But I have no doubts he'll come back. He knows what he has to come through."

The midfielder suffered knee ligament damage in September 2011 and was ruled out for a year and missed most of last season with a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in November.
