Accrington Stanley have signed defender Seamus Conneely on an 18-month deal.

Conneely, 26, was a free agent after leaving Sligo Rovers in the summer - the club where Stanley boss John Coleman was manager last season.

After starting his career at Galway, Conneely moved to Sheffield United in 2011, external but failed to make an appearance for the Blades.

Conneely, who can play right-back, centre-back or midfield, joins on a free transfer.
