Matt Macey: Arsenal keeper joins Accrington Stanley on loan

Matt Macey is yet to make his first competitive appearance for Arsenal

League Two side Accrington Stanley have signed Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Macey on loan for one month.

The 20-year-old started his career at Bristol Rovers before moving to the Gunners for a compensation fee in 2013.

Macey toured during pre-season with the first team and was on Arsenal's bench for a couple of games during late November and early December.

"I've been looking to get out on loan all season but due to injuries it didn't quite happen," he said.

"Part of developing into a top goalkeeper is going and learning your trade lower down the leagues and learn proper football."
