Plymouth Argyle have signed MK Dons centre-back Tom Flanagan on loan.

The 23-year-old, who has played nine times for the League One club this season, has moved to Home Park up to and including 10 February.

"Tom deserves an opportunity to go and play regular football," said Dons boss Karl Robinson.

His move comes after Argyle boss John Sheridan told BBC Radio Devon that he would bring in at least one new face before Saturday's trip to Southend.

"It's just important that we strengthen and keep all areas strong," he said.

Argyle have seen , external after his loan spell came to an end, while Blackburn's Anthony O'Connor is set to return to his parent club after the trip to Roots Hall.

"All the players want to stay, but they're not my players and there's not a lot more I can do," Sheridan said.

"They're very happy to stay, they're all enjoying their football, but it's a bit nip and tuck whether they're going to be here or not.

"I'll do my damnedest to get them here, but if it doesn't happen I'll look elsewhere, I've got to try and fill those voids of whoever's leaving or not staying."
