Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals after easing past Elche 9-0 on aggregate.

Manager Luis Enrique rested key names with a 5-0 first-leg cushion and named six Barcelona B players in his squad, handing Gerard Gumbau a debut.

His side led through Jeremy Mathieu's superb free-kick and Sergi Roberto smashed a brilliant second.

Pedro netted from the penalty spot before the break and Adriano's injury-time header completed the scoring.

They will now meet Atleti - who earlier knocked out rivals Real Madrid - over two legs, beginning with home advantage at the Nou Camp on 21 January.

Atletico edged Barca to the La Liga title last season but were beaten 3-1 at the Nou Camp last weekend and Enrique's side have now lost just once in 15 matches.

Punishing Barca

Barcelona have scored 21 goals in four Copa del Rey matches this season and have conceded just one

Without Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Xavi and Gerard Pique, they dominated an Elche side featuring nine changes from their last league outing as they focus on trying to survive in La Liga.

Mathieu sent a curling free-kick into the top corner from 30 yards on 21 minutes and Roberto fired a left-footed effort from 20 yards which curled around home keeper Manu Herrera.

When Adama - one of the B team players who impressed on the night - was felled by Edu Albacar in the box, Pedro scored Barca's 20th goal in four Copa del Rey matches this season.

Alen Halilovic - the youngest player to represent Croatia at full international level - made his debut from the bench and struck the post, while Adriano guided in Douglas's cross at the death.
