Exeter City have signed former Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old initially joined the club on non-contract terms in November and has so far made six appearances.

"He's done very well and hopefully he'll continue to add to us for the rest of the season," said Exeter boss Paul Tisdale told BBC Sport.

"He's a good player and he'll add value with his game and add value to aspiring young centre forwards also."

Morrison was released by Colchester at the end of last season and had been without a club until his move to St James Park.

He becomes the fourth player to sign for the Grecians permanently this month after , external David Noble and Alex Nicholls committed themselves to the club.

City have funds available after selling Player of the Year Matt Grimes to Swansea for £1.75m at the start of the month.

"It's the benefit of the current situation, he's another player who will add competition for places," Tisdale added.

"But most importantly I sign players who can play in the team."
