Oxford have signed MK Dons right-back George Baldock on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has made more than 50 appearances for the Dons, playing in the club's famous 4-0 win over Manchester United earlier this season.

Baldock has previously been on loan at Northampton, Tamworth and Icelandic side IBV, where he played in Europa League qualifying.

"I'm delighted to be here. I can't wait to start," he told BBC Radio Oxford.

"I've known about the interest for a few weeks but the manager at MK Dons was reluctant to let me go at first, wanting to have enough cover in certain positions, but I've been banging down his door for a while.

"I don't think Oxford are in their rightful position. They've got the players to push for promotion, rather then be towards the bottom of the table."

Oxford, who are 17th in the League Two table, signed another right-back on loan last month, with Richard Brindley joining from Rotherham.

Oxford boss Michael Appleton added: "George has been involved with a team chasing promotion from the division above this season and wants to come here and be part of a successful side.

"It gives us decent competition for places all over the park and it gives us plenty to think about."
