Jeffrey Monakana: Brighton loan midfielder to Mansfield

Jeffrey Monakana signed an 18-month deal with Brighton in January 2014

Mansfield Town have signed Jeffrey Monakana on a month's loan from Championship club Brighton.

The attacking midfielder, 21, provides cover for Reggie Lambe, who was injured in Tuesday's 1-0 win over Luton Town.

Enfield-born Monakana was on Arsenal's books as a youngster before joining Preston, where he scored six times in 49 appearances.

He has yet to start a first team game since moving to the Seagulls and has been loaned to Crawley and Aberdeen.
