Joe Walsh: Crawley Town defender makes MK Dons switch

Joe Walsh has captained Crawley this season

Defender Joe Walsh has joined MK Dons on loan from League One rivals Crawley Town for the rest of the season, with a view to a permanent move.

The 22-year-old, who was called up to the Wales senior squad, external for the first time in October, has made 110 appearances for Crawley since 2012.

He is out of contract at Broadfield Stadium in the summer.

"I was made up when I found out we could get it done," Dons boss Kark Robinson told the club website., external

"Since Shaun Williams [left to join Millwall] we haven't had a left-footed defender and he will provide great cover at both left-back and in the centre."

Former Swansea trainee Walsh has played 32 games for Crawley this season, but was sent off in his final appearance as they lost 5-0 to Doncaster Rovers on 10 February.

He will be available to make his Dons debut in their home game against Chesterfield on Tuesday.
