Dave Winfield: AFC Wimbledon extend loan of York defender

Winfield made 18 appearances for Shrewsbury last season

AFC Wimbledon have extended the loan spell of York City centre-back Dave Winfield into a second month.

The 26-year-old has made six appearances for the Dons since joining the League Two side last month.

"Dave had not played a lot of games this season but he has acquitted himself well," Dons first-team coach Simon Bassey told the club website.

"To come in and get up to speed as quickly as he has is a credit to him. He is a really good professional."

Former Aldershot, Wycombe and Shrewsbury defender Winfield has featured just five times for York after joining the Minstermen last summer.
