Cardiff's Kenwyne Jones unsure of future after Bournemouth move

Cardiff City striker Kenwyne Jones admits he does not know where his long-term future lies following his "surprising" loan move to Bournemouth.

Jones has joined the promotion-chasing Cherries until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old is Cardiff's top scorer this term but is the latest to leave as manager Russell Slade cuts costs.

"Whatever is to take place in the summer is going to happen on its own. That's somewhat out of my hands," said Jones.

The forward told BBC Radio Solent Sport: "I'm surprised. The way this came about was flattering but also unexpected."

Jones joined Cardiff as part of a swap deal which saw Peter Odemwingie move to Stoke in January 2014.

Trinidad and Tobago international Jones scored 13 goals in 36 appearances for Cardiff before swapping the Championship's mid-table comfort for the tight title run-in.

Bournemouth, who have never played in the top flight, lead the table.

Jones has said he is keen to help the Cherries win promotion, but is uncertain about where he will be for the next campaign.

"When the season is over I will be able to know where paths lead, lead to or lead away from. I just have to wait until that time," he added.

"I'm not looking beyond the next game or the next training session."
