FA Women's Cup: Everton Ladies 0-3 Notts County Ladies

Notts County beat Everton to earn their place in the first FA Women's Cup final to be held at Wembley.

Former Everton defender Alex Greenwood set up County's first two goals with crosses for Jess Clarke and Ellen White to head home in the second half.

Danielle Buet made it 3-0 with a free-kick late on to seal the win and Notts' place in their first FA Cup decider.

County will face the winner of Chelsea and Manchester City, who contest the second semi-final on Monday.

Everton, the only side from outside the top flight left in the competition, were looking to beat the Lady Magpies at the semi-final stage for the second consecutive year.

Lucy Whipp fired an early warning shot, lashing an effort off the woodwork from 25 yards, before Notts piled forward in search of an opener.

Buet, Clarke and White threatened before former Everton defender Fern Whelan went close to marking her first meeting with her former club with a goal, hitting the side netting with a powerful header.

Williams wasted the best of the first-half chances, shooting straight at Megan Walsh with only the goalkeeper to beat after White won the ball from Paige Williams.

The relatively inexperienced Toffees were not intimidated by a Notts side that included eight England internationals, or overawed by the venue, with Goodison Park hosting the ladies side for the first time since 2008.

England Under-19 striker Whipp called Carly Telford into action just before the break with a poked effort.

And, less than a minute into the second half, Clarke broke the deadlock when her headed effort beat Walsh from close range, following Greenwood's cross from the left.

Ten minutes later, Greenwood whipped in a free-kick from the opposite wing which was met by White's unstoppable header inside the box.

Buet put the tie out of reach when her deceptive long range free-kick beat the Everton defence, before White had a header cleared off the line by Williams.

Everton manager Andy Spence told BBC Sport:

"Our team today probably had an average age of 22 against a very experienced side and I think that probably told at times.

"We're very proud of the players' efforts, we couldn't have asked any more from them.

"Congratulations to Notts. We have to accept that on the day that they deserved to win and credit to them."

Notts County captain Laura Bassett told BBC Sport:

"It's absolutely massive. I'm so proud of all the girls, the staff, everyone here today because they have done such a professional job.

"I'm pleased for the club, there is a real buzz around and we deserve to be in this final.

"This has been a big target for us. Everyone was really focused today and didn't get ahead of themselves. We gave Everton the respect they deserved and we were just too good on the day."
