Juanmi: Southampton sign Spain international from Malaga

Juanmi, full name Juan Miguel Jimenez Lopez, made his Spain debut in March

Southampton have signed Spain forward Juanmi from Malaga on a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old came through the youth system at Malaga, scoring 20 goals in 93 appearances for the La Liga side.

He won two European U19 Championships with Spain before making his senior debut against the Netherlands in March.

"Since I was very young, it's always been a dream for me to play in the Premier League," said Juanmi. "The style of football played here is similar to the way I play."

Juanmi scored eight goals as Malaga finished ninth in the Spanish top flight last season, and he added: "I am anxious and I want to start as soon as possible. This is a big club and it has shown a lot of trust in me.

"Now I just want to start playing and to start scoring goals."
