Guernsey and Jersey both eased to 3-0 wins to record their second victories at the 2015 Island Games.

Guernsey beat Gotland at St Brelade thanks to Marc McGrath's fifth-minute penalty and strikes from Tom Strawbridge and substitute Glyn Dyer.

Jersey beat Western Isles to go level on points at the top of their group.

Karl Hinds and Jack Boyle both scored their second goals in as many days before captain Luke Watson added another in the second half.

Guernsey only need a draw to make the semi-finals after Gibraltar, who they play on Tuesday, drew 1-1 with Ynys Mon, who have lost 5-2 to Guernsey.

"I think we did control the game, we were a little bit profligate in front of goal and with a little bit more composure maybe the game would have been out of sight a bit sooner," Guernsey manager Steve Sharman told BBC Sport.

"The most important thing for us is that 19 of our 20 players have had a game.

"We go into a game with Gibraltar being able to choose from people who know exactly what the Island Games is all about."

Jersey must beat the Isle of Man in their final game if they are to progress to the semi-finals.

The Manx side beat Alderney 7-0, to add to their 9-0 win over the Western Isles, to top the group on goal difference.

"They were a well-organised side and once we got the first goal we thought we would go on to score more," Jersey captain Luke Watson told BBC Radio Jersey.

"We didn't score the goals we wanted, but we'll go on with some confidence against the Isle of Man.

"I've heard good reports about the Isle of Man, but we're a confident bunch, we enjoy challenges, and in front of out home fans we'll hopefully put on a performance that will take us on to a semi-final."

Meanwhile Guernsey's women are still without an Island Games win since 2007 after they lost to pre-tournament favourites Aland 8-0.
