Bournemouth: Simon Francis signs new contract until 2019
- Published
Bournemouth defender Simon Francis has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal at the club, which will run until the summer of 2019.
Francis, 30, has played in every match for the Cherries this season in their first ever campaign in the top flight.
The former Southend United right-back has captained Eddie Howe's side in the absence of the injured Tommy Elphick.
"It was an easy decision for me because I am really settled. It means a lot to me personally," said Francis.
"The manager has brought in some quality signings but he's managed to improve the lads that have been here since League One."
