Ospreys wing Jeff Hassler has won 11 caps for Canada, scoring three tries

Ospreys wing Jeff Hassler will be out for up to five months after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

The 23-year-old damaged his medial ligament while playing for Canada against Romania on 22 November.

Hassler, who signed for Ospreys in 2013, signed a new three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium in September.

"Following consultation it was clear that the best course of treatment is surgery," said Ospreys Medical Performance Manager Chris Towers.

"He is being operated on this week and will be looking at a rehab period of up to five months."
