Wales prop Aaron Jarvis says he is "comfortable" with the possibility of playing as an emergency hooker at the World Cup.
Squad replacements can only play if they are called up at least 48 hours before kick-off.
Wales coach Warren Gatland has admitted having two hookers - Scott Baldwin and Ken Owens - in his squad is "a risk"., external
Jarvis said: "It's something I am comfortable with, and I'm happy if it's to come down to it in an emergency."
The tight-head prop has won 13 caps since pursuing Test honours with the nation of his Welsh-born grandmother by joining Ospreys from Bath in 2011.
But the Exeter-born 29-year-old now faces the possibility of throwing in at the World Cup as a stand-in for fellow Osprey Baldwin or Scarlets' Owens.

"I've been doing bits and bobs, practising my throwing," said Jarvis.
"Scrummaging-wise, it's not too different to prop, really.
"I've got a lot of help from both hookers. They've been great in showing me different ways of holding the ball.
"Personally, I think I've improved quite a lot, and I am really enjoying it.

"Once you learn how to hold the ball properly and pushing your hands through, it's actually all right.
"But I've got a lot more respect for the hookers now, though.
"The coaches know what they are doing here, so it's not a problem."
Wales' tournament starts against Uruguay on Sunday, 20 September, in Cardiff.
The tournament period officially starts on Wednesday, 16 September.
