Speedway: Plymouth Devils sign Kalle Katajisto

Plymouth Devils have signed Finnish rider Kalle Katajisto as a replacement for the injured Cory Gathercole.

The 22-year-old will make his debut in the Devils' Premier League match at Scunthorpe on Friday.

The fixture against Scunthorpe will be the first time since May that the Devils have been able to field a team without guests or rider replacements.

Gathercole has been ruled out for the rest of the season with shoulder and knee injuries.

"Kalle has been a target for some time and his arrival means that when we go to Scunthorpe on Friday we will be able to track a full side of our own riders for the first time since Ty Proctor was injured," said team manager Lee Trigger.
