British number one Elena Baltacha powered to her first title of the year with a 7-5 6-3 defeat of Czech Petra Cetkovska in the Aegon Challenge.
Amid wet conditions in Nottingham, the final had to be moved indoors.
But Baltacha, who had not lost a set on her way to the final, was completely unfazed as she proved too strong for Cetkovska, ranked 92 in the world and 18 places below the Scot.
"I couldn't ask for more going into Eastbourne and Wimbledon," she said.
Her victory in Nottingham is her second success in an ITF £100,000 event following her victory in the ITF Midland tournament in February 2010.
She will now compete in Eastbourne before heading to Wimbledon.
Baltacha said: "It's great to win a title this big, especially playing at home. It makes it even more special.
"The decision to go indoors was made pretty quickly and, to be honest, I felt like I had a better chance going indoors, so none of that bothered me at all.
"In the first set, I think we both started a little bit hit-and-miss, probably because we hadn't hit indoors and we needed to get used to it. Then by the end of the first set, I felt like I was dominating.
"Once I won that set I felt very confident to push on and I relaxed and I thought, 'Okay, I can really go for it now'. She started playing better towards the end but by then it was too late.
"This is everything I could have hoped for from this week. I have had enough preparation on the grass going into Eastbourne and my form has been solid all week.
Elsewhere, Denmark's world number one Caroline Wozniacki won her second straight Sony Ericsson Open title after beating fourth-seeded Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic 6-1 6-4 in the final.
Wozniacki has not lost a set all week in Copenhagen on the way to claiming her fifth WTA title of the year.
In Birmingham, the Aegon Classic final between Sabine Lisicki and Daniela Hantuchova was postponed after persistent rain showers prevented play.
The match will now take place at 1100 BST on Monday.
