British number two Anne Keothavong has been knocked out of the Copenhagen Open by second seed Angelique Kerber.

Keothavong claimed the opening set of the second round tie before the German fought back to win 4-6 6-3 6-3.

The Briton saw off Hungarian qualifier Melinda Czink in the first round, but could not maintain an impressive start against world number 16 Kerber.

The 24-year-old, who won her maiden WTA event in Paris earlier this year, faces compatriot Mona Barthel in round three.
