Jersey discus thrower Shadine Duquemin has won a silver at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
The 16-year-old broke the Channel Island discus record as she threw 49.25m at the National Sports Centre in the Isle of Man.
She is the first islander to win a medal at the games since 2004 when Daniel Hawksworth won swimming gold.
The medal adds to the Island Games' discus record Duquemin secured earlier this summer in the Isle of Wight.
She said: "I was hoping to come over here and personal best in both which is what I've done, both discus and the shot put.
"But to come away with the medal is an added bonus really, I was very happy about that.
"It makes all the hard work definitely worth it."
