Manchester United hope that a £40m offer for Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos, 24, will be enough to tempt the Germany international away from the Bundesliga champions.
Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, 21, is to announce next week whether his future lies at Chelsea or Atletico Madrid after spending this season on loan at the Spanish club.
