The escalator from the changing room to the pitch at Berlin's Olympic Stadium caused some amusement on Twitter before the Champions League final as Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner took the casual approach compared to his team-mates before kick-off.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was among those handing out the early tributes to Barcelona on the 3-1 victory, tweeting: "They were better then us when they beat us. We knew they were better then everybody else too. They've raised the bar again. Congrats Barca."
