Stoke City have confirmed the signing of Christchurch United goalkeeper Scott Morris, who has signed a contract until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The New Zealand youth international has been training at Clayton Wood for the past few weeks, with the club having offered him a professional deal after impressing members of the hierarchy on his trial.

On putting pen to paper with Steven Schumacher's side, the 22-year-old said: "It has been a long-held ambition to test myself in England, which was something I explored a couple of years ago, and it now feels like the right time and right opportunity to develop my game."

The shot-stopper further added: “My immediate goal is to adapt to the professional environment, learn from my new teammates and be the best version of myself in training every day. It’s a chance I want to grasp with both hands.
