Menna Fitzpatrick, Britain's most-decorated Winter Paralympian, is expected to miss the majority of the season after breaking her leg in training.

The 26-year-old Para-alpine skier has had surgery on the injury.

Fitzpatrick has six Paralympic medals, including slalom gold from 2018, as well as three world titles.

"May not have been the end of pre-season we were hoping for, but Menna is best in the gym and fighting for Cortina-Milano 2026," said a post on the Instagram page she shares with her guide, Katie Guest.

A GB Snowsport spokesperson said: "Following an injury sustained in summer training, Menna Fitzpatrick has undergone a successful surgical procedure and is now underway with a dedicated rehabilitation plan.

"She is making positive progress, and while a good case scenario would see her back in training this winter, we will be assessing Menna's recovery under the supervision of the GB Snowsport medical team to ensure she is in the best possible position ahead of the 2025-26 season."

The Para-alpine World Cup season gets under way in December.
