Kingussie relegate Lochaber and move three points clear

Champions Kingussie relegated Lochaber with an 8-4 home win which propelled them three points clear at the top of shinty's Premiership with a game in hand.
Newtonmore came from two goals down to win 3-2 away to Lovat and Kyles did the same for a 5-3 defeat of visitors Skye.
Kinlochshiel grabbed a late equaliser to draw 1-1 at Oban Camanachd and Fort William emerged as National Division title contenders with a 6-2 victory over leaders Beauly.
Ben Delaney struck early for Lochaber, but three from James Falconer and one from Cameron Bremner gave Kingussie a 4-1 half-time lead. In the second half, Falconer got a fourth, Roddy Young a double and Eoin Baikie another for Kingussie, while Delaney completed his hat-trick for Lochaber who also had Max Campbell on target.
Bailey MacKay and Marc MacLachlan scored on either side of half-time for Lovat but Newtonmore came storming back with a goal from Kyle Clark followed by two from Iain Robinson to take both points.
There was an early goal rush at Tighnabruich as Archie Millar put Skye 2-0 ahead before two from Scott MacDonald and one from Ross MacRae made it 3-2 Kyles, all in the opening 11 minutes. Jamie Gillies netted an equaliser but MacDonald completed his hat-trick and MacRae his double to clinch it for Kyles.
Daniel MacVicar gave Oban Camanachd an early lead which was followed by 83 goalless minutes before Keith MacRae’s equaliser for Kinlochshiel.
Beauly's Jack MacDonald responded to Calum Shepherd’s opener for Fort William with a brace. However it was all Fort after that with two from Hamish Shaw and one each from his brother Lachie, Archie MacKinnon and Cam Stephen.
However this still wasn’t enough to confirm promotion for either of these teams since Glasgow Mid Argyll kept in the race with a 5-3 defeat of Kilmallie at Yoker.
Strathglass clinched the North Division 1 title and the opportunity of a return to the National Division with a 3-3 draw away to Kinlochshiel.
