Scotland face a Friday shootout with Denmark and China to secure the remaining two play-off places at the World Women's Curling Championship in South Korea.

As expected, Sophie Jackson's rink consigned Turkey to a ninth defeat in their 10 round-robin games.

Reigning champions Canada, the hosts and Sweden then followed leaders Switzerland in securing qualification with wins later on Thursday, leaving two remaining places up for grabs.

The Scots' 10-6 win over Dilsat Yildiz's Turks means they sit sixth in the table with six wins and four defeats, one place above Madeleine Dupont's Danes, who have won five of theirs going into the final two round-robin games.

A win over the Danes would take the pressure off the Scots when they conclude their round robin campaign against China, who have the same won-six lost-four record as Jackson's rink.

Both their rivals thereafter face tough final games, with the Danes facing the Swiss, currently ranked two in the world, and China taking on top-ranked Canada.

Rui Wang's China are currently ranked 17th in the world, two places above the Scots, while Dupont's Danes are 30th.

Jackson enthused: "It feels great to still have our play-off hopes in our own hands against two teams that are also in contention.

"We'll head into both games as we have the other games though, focusing on ourselves and not the opposition."

Four-time world champion Silvana Tirinzoni's Swiss were the first team to guarantee qualification despite suffering their first round-robin defeat when being edged out 7-6 by Rachel Homan's Canada.

Further wins for the Canadians, Anna Hasselborg's Sweden and Eunji Gim's hosts mean they too secured progression with eight wins each.

The rinks finishing first and second go directly to Saturday's semi-finals, while the sides finishing third to sixth face play-offs to reach the last four, with the final being played on Sunday.

The top eight nations in the Olympic standings at the end of the event are assured of their places at Milan/Cortina 2026.

Great Britain currently sit eighth after Jackson and her team's showing at the 2024 World Championship.
