Andros Townsend finally made his long-awaited return back to elite English football, after 19 months to be exact, with his substitute appearance for Luton at Nottingham Forest.

The standout difference to the previous 264 Premier League outings was the sight of Townsend Sr on the back of the 32-year-old's shirt.

Speaking to the Luton media team, they explained how the former England international had to get special dispensation from the Premier League to make the change. The reason being Townsend has a four-year-old son, Andros Townsend Jr, and you would assume, there are hopes he can follow in his father's footsteps and have a career in professional football.

‘Project Townsend’ is well underway.
