Reigning champions Donegal will begin the defence of their Ulster title by hosting Derry in the preliminary round.

It is the second season in succession that the pair have met in their first Championship game of the campaign, with Jim McGuinness' side having beaten Derry, then under Mickey Harte, at the quarter-final stage last year.

The winners of the tie will play Monaghan, now under the management of Gabriel Bannigan, in the last eight.

The victors of that quarter-final will play the winners of Fermanagh's hosting of Down in the semi-finals.

All-Ireland champions Armagh will travel to Antrim in their quarter-final, while Tyrone host Cavan.

The winners of those ties will meet in the last four.
