Northern Ireland and St Mirren forward Conor McMenamin will require patella tendon surgery after suffering a reoccurrence of an injury on international duty.
The 28-year-old came off the bench for Michael O'Neill's side in a 5-1 defeat against Spain last month.
The former Cliftonville and Glentoran player had previously missed time with a similar injury last season, returning to action for St Mirren in March and helping the Scottish Premiership side secure European qualification.
McMenamin joined St Mirren last summer and made 32 appearances for Stephen Robinson's side in his first season with the Buddies.
He has not travelled with the side for their pre-season camp in Spain which is being used as preparation for their entry into the Europa Conference League at the second qualifying round stage.
