Glentoran scored a late winner to beat Linfield 2-1 and maintain their lead at the top of the Women's Premiership table.

Hot on their heels are Cliftonville who claimed a 2-0 victory against north Belfast rivals Crusaders to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Lisburn Rangers thrashed struggling Mid-Ulster 5-0 at Crewe Park.

Lisburn Ladies and Derry City played out a 1-1 draw at the Bluebell.

Late drama at Midgley

After a tense first half, Aimee Kerr broke the deadlock for Glentoran on 69 minutes, finishing off a good team move.

Substitute Alex Clarke thought she had rescued a point for the Blues as she struck an equaliser on 92 minutes.

However, it would be fellow substitute Jenna McKearney who would have the final say as she got the decisive touch two minutes later to seal the hard-fought win for Kim Turner's side.

Glentoran remain top of the table, level on points with Cliftonville who have played a game less.

Cliftonville have won their opening seven league games

Cliftonville are the only side in the league still with a 100% record as they rattled off their seventh win in a row on Friday night.

The Reds went in front on 35 minutes as Vicky Carleton fired home from close range after being found in the box by Danielle Maxwell.

Caitlin McGuinness sealed the win four minutes from time, showing great composure to round Maddy Harvey-Clifford and finish into an empty net.

Five-star Lisburn Rangers

Lisburn Rangers moved up to third in the table with a second successive win.

An own goal from Rachel Rodgers gave Rangers the lead on 14 minutes before Caoimhe Mulholland added a second just after the half hour mark 32 from the penalty spot.

Faye Loughran scored a third four minutes after the restart with Sophie Megaw netting a late double to round off the scoring.

Mid Ulster are rooted to the foot of the table having lost their first eight games.

Candystripes salvage point against Lisburn

New signing Leah Wilgaus made a dream start to life at Lisburn Ladies by opening the scoring at the Bluebell on eight minutes.

Tara O'Connor-Farren then levelled for the Candystripes in the 78th minute as both sides were forced to settle for a draw.

The result moves Derry up to fifth in the table whilst Lisburn remain in seventh place.
