Oban Camanachd and Fort William both failed to gain the victories they needed to remain in the Mowi Premiership title race, leaving Kingussie seeking just a point in the final game of the season to retain their crown.

Oban lost 3-1 to Newtonmore at the Eilan where Iain Robinson scored a hat-trick to leave Newtonmore as the only other contenders.

Robinson struck twice in the first half and Ross MacMillan pulled one back for Camanachd in advance of Robinson's third.

A 1-1 draw with Kinlochshiel at Rearaig was also insufficient to keep Fort William in contention.

Ali Nixon put Shiel ahead just before half-time and although Ewen Campbell equalised just before the hour, Fort were unable to grab the extra point they needed.

This leaves Newtonmore top by a goal difference of one and their programme complete, with Kingussie seeking a point in what will be a difficult game at Fort William.

This final encounter of 2025 will not take place until 1 November due to the intervening shinty hurling internationals against Ireland in Inverness on 25 October.
