Jo Pavey will lead Britain's challenge for marathon success in this summer's World Championships in South Korea.

Pavey was 19th in the London Marathon in two hours 28 minutes 24 seconds - comfortably inside the qualifying mark.

Louise Damen also qualified, while Mara Yamauchi has been cleared to compete despite missing London through injury.

No British male athlete achieved the required individual time in London but Lee Merrien, Andrew Lemoncello and Dave Webb have been selected.

Susan Partridge and Alyson Dixon will also be in action, although their times will only count in the team event.

World-record holder Paula Radcliffe has opted not to compete in the Daegu marathon because of the intense heat in South Korea in August, when the competition will be staged from 27 August to 4 September

Merrien was the first British finisher in London in 14th, achieving a personal best mark of 2:14.27.

UK Athletics head of endurance Ian Stewart said: "The positive performances at the weekend have made us able to select strong teams for the World Championships in Daegu.

"After a great European Championships in Barcelona for both the men's and women's teams, we are keeping that momentum going into the 2011 summer season and are confident these athletes will represent the Great Britain team well in Korea."
