Ennis-Hill 'on the mend' after injury

Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill is back in training after an injury-plagued season.

Sheffield's Ennis-Hill missed the World Championships in August because of an Achilles injury but started jogging again this week.

The 27-year-old told BBC Sport that she would like to compete in the pentathlon at the World Indoor Championships in Poland next March.

"I'll make a decision at the beginning of next year," said Ennis-Hill.

"I'd love to do the pentathlon at the World Indoors but I have to make sure I've got enough time to be technically where I need to be and competing at the top of my game.

"It's been a challenging year but I'm on the mend. Things are going in the right direction finally and hopefully I'll be back at my best soon."

Ennis-Hill, who won heptathlon gold at London 2012,, external won the World Indoor pentathlon title in Doha in 2010 but had to settle for silver last year in Istanbul.

She competed in the Anniversary Games in July, finishing fourth in the 100m hurdles and eighth out of eight in the long jump.
