Russia's Aleksey Troshkin set a new course record as he won the 2014 Jersey Marathon in a time of 2:18:31.

The time was six minutes quicker than the previous best set by Kenya's Reuben Chumba last year.

Ethiopia's Getenesh Tamirit was the first woman to the finish line in a time of two hours and 47 minutes.

More than 400 people took part in the event which is now in its ninth year and starts and finishes at the Weighbridge in St Helier.

It was the third year in a row that the course record had been broken after Thomas Abyo from Salford set a new mark in 2012.
