Kerr named Scottish athlete of the year

World 1500m champion and Olympic silver medallist Josh Kerr has been named Scottish Athletics' athlete of the year.
Head of performance Mark Pollard said it was reward for the 27-year-old's "exceptional year".
"He delivered success at a championship level both indoors and outdoors over the past year and the ability to produce his best performances in the moments where it mattered are a credit to his professionalism and dedication to our sport," he said.
"To have a Scotsman win a World Championship in Scotland at the World Indoors was something truly significant.
"Going beyond that, to win the silver medal in Paris in what can only be described as a 1500m final 'for the ages' was another incredible achievement in a strong season."
Meanwhile, Paris 2024 Paralympic champions Samantha Kinghorn and Ben Sandilands shared the Para athlete of the year award.
