Elizabeth Cann wins English national badminton title

Jersey's Elizabeth Cann regained her English national women's singles title after beating Yorkshire's Kate Robertshaw at the Bolton Arena in Manchester.

The 32-year-old top seed, who is aiming to compete at the London Olympics, won 21-19, 21-17 to take the title for the fifth time in her career.

Jersey's Mariana Agathangelou was beaten in the women's doubles final.

Agathangelou and partner Heather Olver lost to Jenny Wallwork and Gabby White.

They came back from losing the first game 21-16 to win the second 18-21 before going down 21-16 in the third.
