Newcastle Eagles player Seneca Knight says he is dreaming of a "Championship moment" as he gears up to compete for the first silverware of the basketball season.
The Eagles face Bristol Flyers at Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Sunday (15:30 GMT) in the Super League Basketball Trophy.
Knight, 24, a former Illinois State college player, joined Newcastle last summer from Latvian side Valmiera Glass Via.
"This is the reason we play basketball," he told BBC Radio Newcastle. "Every kid who picks up a ball dreams of these Championship moments."
Newcastle are the most successful club in British basketball with 27 honours, including lifting the Trophy on seven occasions, but they have not won anything since 2021.
The Eagles are fifth in the SBL, but three places above opponents Bristol, who are chasing their very first trophy.
Louisiana native Knight is keen to add more to Newcastle's collection, adding: "If we can bring it home, we'll complete one of our goals we set out for the season."
