Rookie Reese claims WNBA double-double record

Rookie Angel Reese set a new WNBA record on Sunday as she registered her 13th consecutive double-double for the Chicago Sky.
Reese, the seventh overall pick in this year's WNBA draft, equalled Candace Parker's previous record for the league's longest double-double streak on Friday.
The 22-year-old then claimed 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Sky on Sunday as they lost 84-71 at the Seattle Storm.
Reese's record came a day after Caitlin Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double as the Indiana Fever rallied to win 83-78 at home to the New York Liberty.
First overall draft pick Clark, also 22, led the Fever with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists.
Clark and Reese have both been selected for the WNBA All-Star game against the US women's national team on 20 July and are in contention for this season's Rookie of the Year award having taken their rivalry from the college game into the WNBA.
Clark top-scored for Iowa in the 2023 NCAA championship game but Reese led LSU to a 102-85 win and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
Clark helped Iowa avenge that defeat in this year's competition, beating LSU 94-87 to reach the Final Four, although Iowa again lost in the championship game - this time to South Carolina.
