New Bristol Flyers signing Jonathan Brown has said he aims to be a "difference maker" as the club seek their first league title ahead of the upcoming Super League Basketball (SLB) season.

The combo guard moved to the Flyers earlier this week after signing from Irish Super League club Sligo All-Stars where he averaged 19.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in his rookie season.

Following his transfer, Brown is confident he can help his new club improve on their disappointing seventh-placed finish last season which also included a defeat in the SLB Trophy final to Newcastle Eagles in January.

"I feel like I can be a difference maker – I could be that spark coming off the bench defensively and offensively," Brown told BBC Radio Bristol.

"Bristol has done everything but win a championship and I feel like that is something that I definitely can help do.

"They have a massive vision for themselves - they are one of the top teams in the league as a whole.

"I thought that it would be a great place for me to hone in my skills in the SLB."

Brown spent his college career in the United States before moving to Ireland last year and believes his nomadic pathway will help him transition to a new league expeditiously.

"When I was growing up, I was always moving around so adapting to different places and different situations comes pretty easy to me now," he added.

"I have the 'you've got to figure it out' mentality so it's exciting to see other places and experience new things – I just enjoy it."
