Record points-scorer Beth Sarson has agreed a deal to stay with Super League Basketball (SLB) side Oaklands Wolves for the 2025-26 season.

Sarson helped the Wolves to a league and cup double last season, and it could have been even better for the St Albans-based team but for defeats in the Trophy final and play-off final.

The Wolves, who are based at Oaklands College, first entered the British Basketball League in 2016, and guard Sarson was previously part of their academy team before earning a college scholarship in the United States.

"With a strong group of returners and exciting new signings, we're aiming to make more history together and continue to push this program forward," she said.

Captain Shanice Beckford-North will also be returning for the new campaign, and the club have also re-signed New Zealand forward Amy West, who contributed averages of 6.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2 assists per game during the 2023-24 season.

West was troubled by injury last year but head coach Lee Ryan said: "Having Amy back is a huge boost for our programme. She is a player with great size, versatility and international experience.

"She made a real impact in her first season with us, and now that she is healthy again, we can't wait to see her help push us back towards the top of the SLB."
