Promoter Frank Warren unhappy with Dereck Chisora fight decision

Promoter Frank Warren has called for an immediate rematch between Dereck Chisora and Robert Helenius after the Englishman's controversial heavyweight defeat in Helsinki on Saturday.

Warren was left fuming after Chisora failed in his bid for the vacant European heavyweight title, despite dominating his Finnish opponent.

Two judges gave it to Helenius, while one scored it in Chisora's favour.

"It was one of the worst decisions I've seen in a long time," Warren said.

"I know that sometimes I have a moan about decisions but I don't know how Helenius can hold his head up and claim he won the fight when he knows he lost."

Respected trainer Freddie Roach branded the decision "just terrible", and Warren has vowed to lobby the European Boxing Union (EBU) in a bid to force a rematch.

"Helenius was supposed to be the next big thing and the man to challenge the Klitschkos [WBA, IBF and WBO title-holder Wladimir and WBC title-holder Vitali], but Dereck totally exposed him and I'm being generous to give Helenius four winning rounds in the fight," Warren said.

"I'll be speaking to the EBU as well as the other organisations about an immediate rematch, which is the only course of redress for this injustice to Dereck.

"Dereck really proved that he is one of the top heavyweights in the world and he'll have Helenius' number when they meet again."
