Scott Harrison beats Joe Elfidh to continue winning comeback

Scott Harrison continued on his comeback trail with a points win over Joe Elfidh in their lightweight contest at the SECC in Glasgow.
The 35-year-old, who returned to the ring in June after six years out due to personal problems, put his opponent on the canvas in an explosive first round.
It looked like it would be a quick night's work for the former world featherweight champion.
But it turned into a bit of a slog against the 32-year-old Harworth man.
Elfidh, who had been drafted in as a late replacement after Spain-based Nicaraguan Miguel Aguilar failed to turn up for Friday's weigh-in, had a record of seven straight wins until being knocked out by unbeaten Kieran Farrell in June.
And the Englishman was stalked by Harrison for most of the fight, part of the undercard as Scotland's Ricky Burns retianed his WBO world lightweight title by beating Elfidh's compatriot, Kevin Mitchell.
However, the veteran lacked the snap in his punches that characterised his early career.
In the third round, Harrison wobbled Elfidh with another fine left hook, but the man from Nottinghamshire was proving to be durable.
Harrison got caught in the sixth and last round by his opponent but showed his own durability and, in the end, was a worthy, if unspectacular, 60-53 winner.
The Scot, who is hoping for a world title fight before the end of the year, relinquished his belt in 2006 but defeated Hungarian teenager Gyorgy Mizsei Junior, who was another late replacement, in his June comeback.
